Wet Footographs

On a very remote, black sand beach of Costa Rica, Holly Trimble snapped this footograph of her sandy toes.

Stacy Bryant insists it was a business trip which took her to Clearwater, Florida for this footograph. Can you write off a trip if its purpose is to get a great footo?

In the chilly Pacific Ocean, Dave and Jason Smith grab a footograph while on a tour of Los Angeles and the California Coast.

At Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, Demaris Swint of Alamo, Texas steps into the very, very cold Atlantic Ocean to grab this wet footograph.

On one of the first "warm" days of summer (in Texas, we define "warm" as 100 degrees +) Stacey Bryant and Veronica Murillo cruise Lake Travis in Austin.

Very few people have the opportunity to play historic Carnegie Hall in New York City. Of those, even fewer visit the restroom in the green room. That makes this footograph of these almost-wet-feet a rare footo indeed. Three members of the Judson High School Band (San Antonio, Texas) took time out of their warmups to get this one for us! Those are the feet of Andi Cobb, Emily Weeks and Taylor Smith.
On the beach on Grand Bahama Island, Nora Smith shows off her pink toenails for this footograph during the 2008 Bahamas Weather Conference.

Katie Meinhardt travelled from the frozen land of Bemidji, Minnesota to thaw her toes at Ko 'Olina Beach Resort on Oaha - in Hawaii during March of 2008. This is a man-made lagoon on the East side of the island. What do you bet - on it's coldest day that lagoon is warmer than Lake Bemidji??!!

While sailing in the Bahamas, Gordon Crow pauses for this footograph as the suns readies to set over the beautiful waters of the Caribbean.

This footo could be classified as Wet Feet, Muddy Feet, Angry Feet...etc. While on a fishing trip in the Laguna Madre along the South Texas Coast near Port Mansfield, Taylor Smith (left) and Ric Ramirez (right) were drenched over and over as boat Captain Shane Jones fought the 40 knot wind to find a good fishing spot. Once soaked to the bone, Taylor and Ric got a mud bath as Shane and first mate Scooter McGee worked to get the boat out of the shallows. Foot in the middle is that of Tim Smith, who somehow managed to stay clean and dry. His foot could go as Lucky Feet.

On Corpus Christi Beach in Texas, Rosemary Cuellar snapped this footograph with the USS Lexington in the background. The "Lex" is a floating museum open to the public...a fascinating place to visit!

One little slip and this foot would've been wet too! That's Lake Tahoe behind Alan Shoemaker's foot. It was a chilly day in October when Alan ventured out from the National Weather Association convention - just long enough to get this footograph.

During the great Edinburg, Texas flood of July 2007 (OK, maybe it wasn't famous, but it was in Texas - so it had to be great), Te Norman braved the ankle deep water to get a footograph for us. Those are some very nice rubber boots, eh?

While on a recent visit to Corpus Christi, Sarai Valdez and her husband managed to go for a quick walk in the surf. As a dedicated footographer, Sarai snapped this footograph for the website!

Sarai Valdez and her husband went deep sea fishing off of South Padre Island and Sarai snapped this footograph just before she, well, uhm, gave her lunch back to the sea gods. She says it was a blast - but next time - they'll stick to bay fishing!

From the Penthouse at Ocean Vista Tower on South Padre Island, Texas, Carmen Minor and her feet take in the view of the crowded beach on the 4th of July 2007. The day on the beach was followed by a fabulous shrimp boil in the penthouse, then a birdseye view of the fireworks over the Laguna Madre.

Attending a conference for work is not always a bad thing, especially when the conference is at Atlantis in the Bahamas. Following a sailboat race - and a thorough massage, Tim and Nora Smith take a break with their sandy feet on the beach of Paradise Island.

This is a footograph of sisters, celebrating one of the sisters' 30th birthday on the beach at South Padre Island, Texas. Two of the sisters are wearing their "birthday suit flip-flops" so it's difficult to tell which one is turning 30! Thanks to Sara Rivers for the footo!

Whitney Meier and friends get creative for this beach footograph on a rainy, cool day during Spring Break 2007 at South Padre Island, Texas.
Erika Loff posed for this footograph last summer, while she was sitting on a dock on the island of Utila in Honduras . She is looking across the bay and south toward the mainland of Honduras . The mountain in the background is Pico Bonito. The footograph was sent to us by Erika's father Jack Loff.

While sailing through Nassau Harbour (Bahamas), Tim and Nora Smith watch the picturesque sunset behind the twin causeways linking New Providence Island with Paradise Island. It was between those causeways in a Gondola that Tim proposed to Nora in April 2000. This footograph was taken 5 years later in April 2005.

Regular contributor Valerie Bates braved the slippery steps leading in to Balmorhea State Park Swimming Pool in Texas to get this footograph. 22 to 28 million gallons a day flow through this man made natural spring fed pool. The 62,000 square foot pool is one of the largest in the U.S.

At Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, Frank Strait and his beautiful bride Heather take a break from their busy vacation to pose for this footograph in the sand.

Frank Strait shows off his sandy feet in this footograph from scenic Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. It's a safe bet that Frank predicted the perfect beach weather for this day!

While on a break from her 100 hour workweek in Galveston, Texas, Stacey Bryant heads out into Galveston Bay for some relaxing fishing. Not sure if this was dawn or dusk - but either way - a beautiful footograph!

At the X-Prize Cup in Las Cruces, New Mexico rain damped the ground, but not the spirit of Jason Smith and friend as they prepared for a busy weekend of activity. This footograph was taken at the entry to the dining tent.

I know these feet were wet at some point during the cruise. This footograph taken in the Western Caribbean aboard Carnival Cruise Lines was submitted to FeetInFamousPlaces by Briana.

Folks enjoying the sunny afternoon on the shores of Lake Superior in Duluth, Minnesota, paused to take in the oddity of Dave Smith, removing his shoes, walking ten feet into the lake, taking a picture of his feet, then returning to shore. Taking a public footograph takes a certain amount of courage!
The water is cold this time of year in the Pacific Ocean. Heck, the water is always cold in the Pacific Ocean. Nonetheless, Dave and Jason Smith set their feet into the water at Santa Monica Beach just so we could have this footograph.
Not quite a wet foot, but close enough! Jason Smith at Santa Monica Pier.
Trivia Question for you: Where does the mighty Mississippi River actually begin? In this footograph, Dave Smith's feet are in the river at the headwaters. The Mississippie is about twenty feet wide and not more than a foot deep at the headwaters coming out of Lake Itasca at Itasca State Park in Northern Minnesota. The river actually runs northward for a short while before bending back to the South to begin its long trek to the Gulf of Mexico.
The surf water temperature was 87 degrees on the day Maya Robinson "cooled" her feet in the Gulf of Mexico following her early morning run on the beaches of South Padre Island, Texas.
